When your soul’s weak, bring yourself home.

If only I could. Received some horrible news last night (on my 19th birthday, I might add) & feel as though my world has just come crashing down. It’s not even the worst kind of news a person can receive, but it’s certainly pretty high up the list. And there’s not a damn thing I can do about it. Stuck here in Glasgow, on my own, & might have to stay that way instead of going home for the summer.

Really don’t want to go out tonight but I’ve already arranged a night-out for my birthday. Thankfully, I’ll have the support of friends. And hopefully, a large quantity of alcohol to drown my sorrows. Just want to crawl into bed & sleep this weekend away.

Flower of Scotland.

I love this country. Last night I experienced some of Scotland’s finest cuisine, namely a Burns supper consisting of Haggis, neeps & tatties. All washed down with a good slug of Irn Bru.

Had an absolutely brilliant night. Felt so welcome & comfortable, & I truly feel like I made some genuine friends. Didn’t want to come back to my own flat at the end of it all.

Finally beginning to feel like I belong here in Glasgow (I’m half Scottish after all). Always wanted to experience the culture & I can’t think of any better way than how I did it last night.
